Do you feel the stifling pressure of the impending A levels? Barely 3weeks after school has restarted, the amount of homework has piled precariously high and with 3 days out of 5 ending at 5:15pm, we year3s have hardly time to pause and catch our breath at all.
No longer can we slacken off and pretend to want to hand in our work in the next lesson. The no nonsense attitude of the teachers, no longer tolerant of slip shod work, blasting us and making sure we do finish our tutorials(with a certain standard expected as well! Read Dom's blog on the Class Response Index for a greater insight.) have not boded well for the already low morale of the classmates. Just losing so many classmates recently, it seems inevitable that some of us will lose out in this race, in this dog eat dog world.
The lack of food by lunchtime has not gone unnoticed by the year3s as well, and we(meaning giving bertram the money, and he go get it) have taken to buying food from former Ah Muus, to satiate our hunger to continue lasting for the rest of the day. At least for mother tongue, we had some rest and relaxation and helped decorate the school foyer with certain lanterns.
Talking about Bertram, it unfortunately brings us to this post's highlight(sorry bert my man, but nowadays I dont really have alot of things to blog about. =). I have linked the girls I mentioned to their friendster profiles. Just click on their names and you'll be able to see their pics.

From recent market analysis,
Bertram aka Birdman,
has a new "love interest",
again.
Apparently, he has noticed this unfortunate(or fortunate, which ever way you want to take it) girl, by the name of
Yiling. He had commented to Dom, "Eh she is not bad looking!" and then giving that act cute face of his, the one with that silly grin and the message "I am a cute lil boy" stamped on his forehead.
You might think its not weird for guys to notice girls, but this is Bertram we're talking about here. In MI(B), Bertram has already left a long legacy of girls in his wake, and yiling wont be the last one yet. Lets recount the past, and go back in time all the way to the very first girl he went after in MI(B).
Year 2004, where all of us were freshmen, Bertram had a on and off love affair/relationship with this fairly pretty girl named
Cheryl, a retainee and a commerce student. From exchanging numbers when they were in the same OG, then smsing each other when they were 10ft away from each other in the canteen, to starting to act like a couple and studying together, buying an expensive necklace for her was one of the few things he did as a "boyfriend". All seemed fine and dandy until Cheryl noticed that Bert was unnaturally close to another of our classmates,
Natasha, and they always stuck together in school, sitting together in class, eating in the canteen, gossiping most of the time.
Cheryl I believed, voiced her unhappiness and bert was hard pressed to do something about it. However, it was natasha that stuck to bert like a leech and I guess one couldnt do much about it. On the other hand, Bert might have enjoyed the attention he received from natasha and in case you guys didnt know, Khai, another classmate of ours, nursed a lasting infatuation on natasha as well. A happy and seemingly strong relationship, thus came to an end like that. Cheryl eventually left school even thought she got promoted, thinking that she could not make it in the A levels route, while natasha failed to make the grade either in her promos or retaking of the Os, and ended up in some course in MDIS. It is rumoured that Bert is still in contact with 2 of these girls.
Come year 2, a smaller class, where one of our classmates pohru(i apologize for the lack of link as she has apparently deleted her friendster account) had left. Why do I mention only her out of the rest that left? Apparently, because Bert has a passing infatuation on her, and though I believe its not strong, still however once existed and is thus important in my recounting of his love life. Moving on, Bert has a friend named
Yue Yun whom he gradually did the same things together as with he did to Cheryl and started a sort of unofficial but recognized relationship which luckily to this day, I hope is still on. In between the relationship however, there is the 2 girls that bert had eyes for.
First,
Riccia, a new freshman, a volleyball player, your typical beach loving leggy babe, which Bert took a liking to, and after that added her on friendster, then asked for her msn, and finally her number. They started chatting but however, would probably remain Net Friends primarily maybe because she never took an interest to bert. Next up would be a girl that we met during the PU2 fun day in Sentosa, one of the camp coordinators by the name of
Nicole. Another sporty looking athlete girl(who we later found out was a rock climber as well), we started to notice a trend in bert's taste of girls. Apparently all of them appeared to be sporty girls and usually was built around the size of your typical track and field girl. Slender body, short hair, hair band, big eyes, and most importantly for bert, long legs.
This year however, marked a change in tastes as Bert finally pointed out yiling, who differs greatly from the previous girls he was associated with. Maybe bert is finally starting to change his tastes as he matures more, or else he is getting bored of athletic girls. The recent one mistake he most regret making and I empathize fully with as I've been through it is the first mistake he made, which I take as with regards to Cheryl.
Eh bert, no offence man. But since you wrote something about me, Im doing it back to you. Besides you've been writing things about so many people that is time we have had something about you. And besides, I havent talked about those girls you look at throughout all these time. Dont deny it okay! Anyway, dont take it to heart and laugh along with the rest of us. Haha =p
To mark, sengkiat, and whoever else bert scandalised. Here's your revenge.
To the rest of my classmates: the question of whether we would be able to make it into Uni lingers more strongly than ever, and even if we got in, would getting a general degree be good enough for a competitive society like singapore?
